Another Mild Winter Day
Yesterday was another mild winter day with a terrific sunset. I ran around 4:45 last night with my friend Jen. We ran our usual Fitzgerald Loop and ran a decent pace. I was pretty tired in the first half. My quad was sore and cramping up. However, once we reached the half way point where the course gets considerably easier I felt better and did not have to think about running. The sunset was amazing last night. It was bright pink and for a few moments the sky was filled with a glowing color. It was really beautiful. I added another mile on at the end with the dogs to make it a seven mile day. I am still congested and still have a cough. This cold is really beating down on me. I feel ok running and am not feeling as badly as I did last week. Yet, I am not feeling superbly motivated or anxious to do a lot more than I am currently doing. I hope with some time off from a full day of work next week that I will be feeling better and back to my "healthy" self.
This morning after tutoring at the hockey academy I ran three miles with two of the hockey students. It was very nice and it was great to catch up with the student outside of the classroom setting. The pace was very easy but I enjoyed being outside. It was very mild out again. This evening I will run with Jen again for the last time for a week or so. She is going to Hawaii for the next week. I am very envious because I could use some warm weather and some rest and relaxation now. I however, am going to try to make the most out of my vacation. I do have a huge list of things to do so I am not thrilled but it's always a relief to get things out of the way. More tonight.
