Easy Running
I had another late night last night. I stayed at my parent's house longer than I expected. I spent much of the night interviewing my Father and Grandfather about their sports history and how sports have influenced thier life. It took so long that I did not get a chance to interview my Mother, she is next but not until I get a decent amount of sleep. By the time I returned to school it was 11 p.m. and I still had academic work to prepare for today. It was a long night.
I slept in this morning and had my usual morning and afternoon of classes and work at the library. I met the team at 4:15 and we ran an easy hour. We ran on the corn fields that were snowy and a little bit icy. The athletes told me they were tired of the Northampton bike path so I definitely gave them something new to run on. They had a really hard time running on the slippery snow but everyone agreed that it was pretty and peaceful running on the snow and being surrounded by fields. We had great views of the 7 sister's range and managed to run for an hour. When we returned we did ab work and I then had to run an extra two miles to a car dealership on Rt. 5 to pick up my car. I had let my house mate borrow the car so he could pick up his car. I was really tired by the time I got my car and decided I would not lift today even though I had originally planned to lift. It is just about 9 p.m. now and I wish I could go to sleep but I have an energy expenditure lab to complete and then I plan to hit the sack. Tomorrow I am meeting some runners to pool run and will probably do another easy day of running in the afternoon. If I feel rested I may do a tempo run, we'll see.
