personal worst
Today I ran in a race for the first time since last September. I say "ran in a race" because I didn't quite race it and I didn't quite "just-run" it, and I suppose this sounds a lot like sandbagging. Anyway, it was my slowest time ever, slower even than my first half-marathon a year and a half ago. I have so much work to do, even to get back to that level.
On the other hand, there were highlights: the girl I drove down with ran a massive PR and went under 1:23. She's 48, so there is yet hope for non-Russian female masters runners :-) Many of my other clubmates did really well too. I saw Kevin Beck on the first out-and-back (but didn't get to say hi later, dang). There were lots of dogs at the race.
Despite the utter crap of this morning I still got 53 miles this week.
My husband says I need to be patient.
