8 miles high
Today I ran a big 8 miles with my running club. It was the first Sunday-long-run I've been to since September or maybe even late August. Whatta blast! It was a nice cool Florida-fall morning with temps in the low 60s. I wasn't planning any pace at all, but I fell in behind some people at a pace that felt really good despite some semi-heavy breathing. When the GPS beeped and said mid-7s I thought it was lying, but since everything felt good I decided to see how long I could keep it up. That turned out to be about 5.5 miles. After that I decided to slow it down for my lungs' sake.
I ended up with 8 miles at 7:58 pace, and it felt great, and I'm just so happy! Later I was a little sore, but I'm not too surprised. Tomorrow calls for 3 miles in the morning, then an hour of cardio in the afternoon. Those 3 miles are going to be very easy.
(yay!)

Welcome back to the running world! So glad to hear that you are healing well. What a long, difficult time for you, and you survived! I should shut my yap about complaining about a week of cross-training! Meghan
