That's so cool that your friend won! And set a course record! Too bad he missed a Boston Qualifier! But I have to tell you, the course is beautiful, stunning, amazing for 13.1 miles, but you have to be tough to endure it for 26.2. Open wilderness, few competitors nearby, virtually no crowd support, what a mental game.

BTW, I don't like asparagus or beets, I only floss my teeth the week before I go to the dentist, and rat terriers are scary dogs, bred to kill varmint. Imagine what they'd do to a runner... Besides I also screamed like a girl in my office the other day when a tarantula spider crawled out of my backpack. My backpack! I called in a coworker to usher it outside while I regained my composure.

Anyone who says 20 is easy is high in my book.

Keep on truckin', Meghan

PS- Have you ever run the Decker 20K scheduled for December? A friend and I are thinking of coming out for it. Good course? Good crowd? Any knowledge?

Tarantula!? Yeah, that's about the same as a rat terrier.

Decker is a legend around here. I've done it 5 of the 7 years I've been here. It's a *great* race, although it's not so heavy on the crowd support. It's very hilly and out in the country. Usually it has great shirts, too. I'd definitely recommend it; it's one of my favorites!
