Running Away From Home
Lately, any entry is a rare thing, but recently I was able to pull off the difficult and uncommon task of integrating both my professional work and personal interest in running. Girls on the Run is an international organization that uses instruction about running and fitness to teach preadolescent girls about self-worth and confidence. I've frequently claimed that running is the only reason I survived one particularly rough patch of my own early teen years, so it was fun to do a story about a group that is teaching a new generation of girls about a sport that has meant so much to me. Now I just need to start doing it again myself!
It wasn't the prettiest day to be outside with my camera and I was fairly waterlogged by the end of it, but these days, every work assignment feels like a little vacation from my life at home. More on that soon...
