Re: the coaching thing, I think McMillan is about the only online coaching program I really know about. There's a few people that advertise in the local running magazine that I might look into, but I really haven't done any homework on this as of yet. I still want to bounce the idea off of my team coach first anyway to avoid any potential unpleasantness.
Since the marathon, I've been increasing my mileage at a glacial pace hoping that my foot will stop aching. I've gone from 4.5 the first week to 7 the second, 12 the third and then 15, all of that just over this past weekend. This week's big goal is 20 miles. In the context of what I put myself through this past summer, that sounds ridiculous, but even my current easy paced jogs are leaving me feeling noticably beat up. It's like there are little pockets of damage deep in the muscles and they're just fine as long as I stay sedentary, but nine miles of steady jogging wakes everything up and brings it painfully to the surface. I thought by now I'd be able to start incorporating a little bit of faster interval stuff to start preparing for my December 10K, but I'm realizing now that I'd better hold off on that for a bit longer.
