I Swear I Just Bought These Shoes

It's hard to believe that I'm already closing in on 300 miles for what feel like my brand new running shoes. It's been a month since I bought them. It's crazy that I'm not going to get much more than a month out of a pair of eighty buck running shoes. I need to start buying cheaper shoes.

I haven't started to get nervous about Sunday's half, mainly because my days have been so intense and hectic. In addition to running a 3 1/2 person department by myself, the show I work on is being completely revamped, rejiggered and renovated and everything is in complete flux. It's delicious from a gossipy point-of-view to watch the infighting and power struggles that are going on behind the scenes as long as I make sure that nobody compels me to choose sides. My own career prospects don't seem to be improving, but I also don't seem to be in danger of losing my job, so at least until October 15th, I should probably just be happy that I've got a regular, manageable schedule and I don't have to fit my training around having to travel for work. Plus, even if I'm not feeling intellectually stimulated here, there's still a lot to be learned. For example, will changing the color of the television set from blue to red placate the liberal media haters out there? Also, how much are they paying our new pop culture producer who has apparently never heard of Sudoku? And what else does she think of as being "cutting edge"...the macarena perhaps?
