Holiday? What Holiday?

I think I remember spending Thanksgiving Day with my family and eating turkey and bourbon spiked sweet potatoes covered in melted marshmallows....I think it was real and not just a dream. My parents were still together and my grandparents were still alive and I think the year was 1989. I might have spent one or two Thanksgivings with various family members since then, but I do know that the last 10 or so have been spent at the CBS News broadcast center. Admittedly, they do make a mean turkey and stuffing in the cafeteria here, but I still end up giving people a blank look when they ask what I'm doing for the holidays.
The good bit is that I have two really remarkably wonderful friends coming into New York from London and DC respectively, so I should have a fun weekend. And if my poor officemate's children would just get a little less pneumonia-stricken by Friday, I might even have that day off too. Last year I partied like a rock star these two days and just ended up depressed and hung-over, so hopefully I can keep that in mind this year and use a little self control. ...yeah, right.
