My Buddy

I'm only a few days away from Andrew being 8 weeks old and my, how time flies. I'm enjoying evey minute of it, except when poor Andrew is in any pain. We've made numerous trips to the doctor's office lately for an allergic reaction to something resulting in hives and a rash. A milk allergy was ruled out and with the help of Benadryl, he seems to be doing much better. I'm very glad to have my happy baby back!

While Andrew isn't even close to being on any kind of schedule, I've been getting a lot more sleep lately. Occasionally, there is a night mixed in with little sleep, but I try to make up for it with a nap.

I've begun to run again. When I got the go-ahead at 6 weeks postpartum, I began by running for 5 minutes, but it seemed like a very long 5 minutes. I'm taking it very slowly and am up to 20 minutes now. I also try to take Andrew for a brisk 30 minute walk each evening. Even though Andrew spends just about every walk sleeping, it's nice to have the company. I didn't particularly enjoy walking alone when I was pregnant. I think I just have more of a focus now.

I should get to bed since last night was one of those nights with less sleep. Good night!

Caitlin,

Thanks for the update! So exciting that you are back to running again, and that motherhood seems to be treating you quite well!

Hey Caitlin! The updates are so exciting. I cannot believe you are up to 20 minutes running again - that is seriously impressive (and inspiring). Andrew's going to be a runner :)

Belated congrats from me! Andrew has excellent company in both name (my husband's) and in birthdate (mine!)

I'm so interested to hear how things go for you. I found coming back to running to be much easier after pregnancy than I did after a stressful period at work. Hope it's smooth for you, too!
