He's Here!

Andrew was born Wednesday, April 11th at 7:03 pm. I was induced around 8:15 that morning, so it was somewhat of a long day. Once the contractions got fairly intense, I ended up having an epidural, so a lot of the day was spent waiting pain-free! My Mom and Brad were both in the room with me. I can't even remember what we did all day, but I do remember playing UNO. The pushing part took a while and I was more hot and tired than in pain. It was all so exciting and such a happy time. They sent us home Friday morning because you have to deliver after 8pm to be able to stay an extra day. I was just 57 minutes away, so I had the minimum stay. I couldn't wait to go home, but after that first night, I was wishing for another night in the hospital. The first night was very overwhelming because Andrew still had some mucus and kept making weird noises. I didn't sleep for even a minute because I spent the whole night sitting over his bassinet in between feedings. I'm still not getting much sleep, but I'm not worrying as much. I'm thankful for the help I've gotten from family and friends whether it was bringing over food, doing dishes, or just keeping me company. Today is my first day alone as Brad had to go back to work on Wednesday. I had to take Andrew to the doctor's because he has conjunctivitis of all things. I'm looking forward to this weekend when the three of us can spend time all together.

Last Day of Work

Today was my last day of work until the Fall. I started getting really tired yesterday on my due date. I decided to work the day after my due date because it was just one more day to the work week. Tomorrow is Good Friday and our district doesn't have school. I'm still about the same as far as any progress is concerned. If I don't have the baby by Monday, then I'll have an ultrasound and non-stress test. The doctor is looking to induce me as of Wednesday provided everything is ok and the schedule in the hospital isn't too crazy. So in the meantime I just keep waiting. I think we'll just try and go out to eat on Easter.
