Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

On Monday, I had the day off from running, but I had a massage. My legs were so tight/sore that the massage therapist stretched me out some before the massage. Every time she touched my legs, I was ready to scream and jump off the table. I love the benefits of a sports massage, but those relaxation massages sure are nice too. Later that night, I had another ice bath. This time I took my husband's advice and wore a t-shirt, neck warmer, and a hat. All that helps, but I still freeze my butt off. We added blankets to the bed, but I couldn't fall asleep because I was shivering, so I also had to add more layers.

Yesterday, I ran for 72 minutes. Today, I had a hill workout (9 x 45 sec. hills). I had to stay at work until 4:00. Since I usually park at my school anyways, I brought my running stuff to work and ran from there since it was going to get dark soon after I started. I made it through a 20 minute warm-up and half of the hills before it was fully dark. The hills felt great and I cooled down for 20 minutes. I'm very surprised, but relieved, that I wasn't tight during the workout. It was raining and I forgot to do drills and stides because I was concentrating on beating the darkness.

I can't believe it, but I'm going to get up early tomorrow morning for my run. I don't have time to run after work because I have to get a flu shot before I head to a fundraising meeting (UMass-Lowell Track/XC alumni). I hate fundraising (I'm too afraid to ask people for money), but it's for a good cause, Brad can't make it, and there were complaints about the fact that there are no females involved, so I have to represent.

You have to "represent"? You don't talk like that.

I told you that the ice bath would help and that you wouldn't tighten up. Sorry you couldn't sleep. I slept great.
