Election Day
Once today is over, commercials won't be campaign commercials anymore. We don't have any offices up for election this year, so I didn't have to do my civic duty and vote today. New Jersey has a dirty governor campaign going on at the moment and I am sick and tired of every other commercial being an attack on the other candidate.
This morning's run, which I apparently was not supposed to do, was pretty lame. It wasn't that anything hurt or felt bad, it was just kind of pathetic. My legs were still tight and stiff from last night's workout. Recently my morning runs have been five miles, but there was no reason to keep it longer right now, so I just did four miles, nice and easy.
As it is starting to be time to cut back on mileage, this afternoon's run wasn't supposed to be as long as it has been. I tried out a new loop, but made a bit of a mistake on it. The plan was to try to cut out the very dangerous third of a mile or so of road, but I forgot to turn before it, whoops! Then I added the loop that I'm thinking about substituting it with which ended up being longer than anticipated. That won't be a problem when it is part of the main run, so it was OK. I was only supposed to run for about fifty minutes, but it ended up being a few ticks under an hour. It was very quick, probably about nine miles. Life goes on, it won't kill me. There are still three weeks left to cut down, so today wasn't too bad.
I hope that we can keep having the weather that we've been having. Not too windy, nice temperatures (in my opinion), and dry. I keep thinking that if I get all the things that I need to survive in really cold weather, it will mean that there is a mild winter. Kind of a reverse psychology.
