Start of the Long Weekend
In my case, every weekend has been a long weekend! This one is a long weekend for everyone, though. When it rains, it pours (as in parties). I have two to go to tomorrow. In addition to the parties, this area is going to be absolutely insane tomorrow because of the Live 8 concert in Philly. On the Fourth, there is also an Elton John concert in Philly. I actually know people who are purposely trying to get out of the city this weekend. They are expecting about a million people, yet the area around the Art Museum can "only" hold about 400,000. To top it off, there are rumors that there are only 440 port-o-pots available!!! It seems that Philly tries to do something special every year for the Fourth since it was the first capital of the country.
Nothing exciting today. It was hot and humid and nasty out. I went for a walk with my former training partner, K. She hasn't been running too much now because she has had other objectives in her life. She has struggled quite a bit with infertility, but she and her husband are now pregnant. She had just gotten back from an ultrasound and is ready to tell people about her pregnancy. She had more than one miscarriage and has had trouble with conceiving as well, so she is very happy. We strolled for about an hour, but it was good for both of us to do that.
One of my exes is having a party tomorrow. One of his best friends is moving accross the country and it is also a going away party for him. B and I were just out running around getting things for the party. B and his friend drove out to Colorado to drop off J's car and boat and just flew back into town this afternoon. The party is going to be thrown together at the last minute. One of the guys who I run with is having a birthday party tomorrow night at a local bar. Given that I'll be outside all day, I'll need a second shower to go out. Not only that, pretty fun clothes need to be worn out at night while during the day comfort rules.

have fun at the parties in cool/cute clothes. as for me, i don't think i am going to wash my hair for 3 days. seriously. yes i'm at the beach. yes i am working out. but i'm on vacation with my family. no need to be cute for me! happy fourth to you!
