Today has been insanely busy. I got up early this morning to go to the long run. Soupy would probably be the best term to describe the conditions. About 75 degrees with 100 percent humidity. By the time we were done the only dry spots on me were on the sides of my shorts at the very bottom. A group of four of us did a variation on the run that we have been doing the past few weeks. There is a lot of shade on this course, so it felt a little bit cooler. I think that we ran about 10 miles, so it is the first time that I have cracked double digits in a while. My stomach was not too happy during the last 15 minutes, but that was the main problem. I can still feel some fatigue, but it is getting better. I have not been sleeping as much as I know that I need to the past few days-my adrenal system is all out of whack from all of the news at work.
I went to the gym after the run. I wanted to ride the bike for an hour, but my thighs and butt were having problems with the seat. Again, there were not any good magazines, but I brought a so-so book to read. I got off the bike after 35 minutes and decided to try the elliptical for the rest of the hour. I only made it about 10 minutes on the elliptical before I just wanted off. I stretched some since I didn't do that at all after the run, I was just to sweaty and nasty to sit outside on the pavement and stretch. The one good part of this trip to the gym was my lifting. I did more exercises than usual, not that I had tons of energy, but I felt like a bad ass after I got two compliments on my biceps. One girl even asked me what exercises I do since they "pop" so much!
This afternoon my mom and I went back to the gym to change the membership so that she is a member too. Then we went on an excursion to find an outfit to wear to the interview. There were a bunch of strikeouts at the first stop. The second stop involved getting a drink and mom finding a bathing suit to wear in the pool at the gym. On the third stop I found a pantsuit on clearance which I bought, although I didn't love it. The pants looked too tight in the thighs (big surprise!). We went to another store just to look and found a much better skirt suit that I bought too. Now the pantsuit needs to go back, but we were both wiped out and didn't feel like dealing with a return.
We got home and watched the Belmont. We really aren't that big of horse-racing folk, but Afleet Alex and his jockey train at the local horse racing track and the owners are from the town where I went to college. They won, woo hoo! Now I'm looking forward to just chilling out and relaxing for the rest of the night.

So fun that your mom joined your gym! My mom actually wants to do the same thing while I'm in Caracas. I don't think my mom has EVER gone to the gym, it'll be funny!
I wanted to say though that I'm happy you are having a positive outlook on things. I feel (and know) you've gone through a lot this year in many respects and I truly admire how you've continued to push your way through it (plus winning a marathon in the process!) Not bad at all ;)
