Paybacks are a Bitch...
...and based on how I felt tonight, I owed everyone. I definitely paid the price for two good days in a row, three if you count Thursday since I don't run on Fridays. Man, oh man, tonight was not my night. The warm-up wasn't too bad, but the workout was pretty awful.
It was raining lightly but steadily. It didn't feel all that bad since it kept us cool since the weather is still on the warm side. Actually, today was the first day that it has been below average in quite some time. We got started on the workout, 12 x 200 with a 200 jog again. My legs just were not responding to what my brain was telling them to do. I guess that the sore quads from yesterday were a sign of things to come. I did suffer through all 12, but it is not one of those workouts that I really want to remember. The only time to remember it is in a race when I feel like crap and can think back to those workouts where I felt just as bad.
Four of us did the warmdown, then it was time to head home. I forgot a towel to put over my seat, so I put a dry tee shirt on the leg part of the seat and leaned forward while I drove. The woman collecting the heart rate monitor data called, so I had to turn around to drop off my full watch to her.
In other news...my mom did not have a detatched retina, it was "only" torn. The specialist did some laser surgery on it to fix it this morning. I asked her if she also did some lasik on her while she had that laser out to correct her vision, but she didn't. Since her pupils were seriously dialated I had to be the taxi today to drive her around.
I still have not heard anything from my interview two weeks ago. I have been trying to come up with a terrific follow-up question so that I can call them and not look like I'm just being nosey. There were at least two jobs in yesterday's paper that I need to send resumes to tomorrow. I should do my cover letters etc tonight, I just have to talk myself into doing it.

oh, i was laughing so hard when i read about you sitting on a t-shirt and leaning forward as you drove...
as for wonderful follow-up questions, it's not so original, but I would consider:
Hi, I just wanted to check in and see if there was any other information you needed from me or would find helpful. Definitely let me know if there is anything I can provide you or your colleagues.
Also, if you haven't sent a thank you e-mail/card/whatever yet, totally do it, and include a version of the line above. Just making contact (like you noted in your post) is so key.
k, if you have done all of the above already just ignore.
