Your Eyes Are Getting Heavy
Pretty much all day today I've felt like my eyes are going to shut and I'm going to be in a dead sleep. Last night was a much better night of sleep, but it was not quite enough to make up for Sunday night. Walking around in a chronic state of sleep deprivation is not good for the health, yet most of our society does it on a daily basis. My nap after work just made me realize exactly how tired I am. I was out like a light and had some trouble getting moving again.
So it was almost tropical out this afternoon with temperatures in the high 30s. That is not to say that I was by any means warm, but it was certainly nice to not need to wear five pounds of clothing! I was concerned about how I would feel after yesterday's double. J had called and told me to cut back both today and Wednesday so that my mileage does not spike too quickly. Once I got going, I didn't really feel bad, just tired. Not tired like after a long run kind of tired, tired like I really want to lay down and get more sleep kind of tired. I ended up not cutting back this afternoon and ran my 9 mile route. Since my stomach had been feeling funky all day long, I did not time the run. I was not sure what was going to happen with my tummy. My mom makes fun of me because I swear that the brand of some kinds of food affects my stomach. She says it can not be so, but the only thing that changed was the kind of pretzels we bought and this problem has only surfaced since those pretzels were opened.
After I got done running I changed into dry clothes and headed over to the gym. My legs did feel a touch on the tight side, so I wanted to ride the bike some to flush out the lactic acid that has built up over the past couple of days. I rode the bike for 40 minutes and then did a better job than usual of stretching. I lifted and did push-ups on the BOSU ball which totally impressed the guy who was stretching on the mat. He was amazed that I didn't do the girly push-ups AND made them harder by using the BOSU. I wanted to lift some more but I was tired and hungry, so I headed home to make my dinner. I have to do some core work tonight since I skipped it yesterday because all I wanted to do was go to bed.
