Taking the Time to Listen to my Body
I am really trying to take the time to listen to the signs that my body is giving me. This week I have been absolutely exhausted. This is above and beyond my usual state of tiredness, I come home from work and sleep hard during my nap. I am not too sure about what brought this on, my thought is getting to sleep later than usual for two days in a row has altered my body. Whatever the cause, I have been really struggling the past two days.
Seeing how tired I was this afternoon, I made the executive decision to not wear my watch until I'm feeling less tired. I was definitely feeling much stronger today than yesterday, but set no land speed records by any means. I just tried to stay relaxed. I ran into K and W around the halfway point and finished my run with them. This was probably good for me since it made me hold back and chat with them. In all I got in 7 miles. When I got home I stretched more than usual because my legs have been feeling very tight. I watched the weather and then headed over to the gym to ride the bike for 40 minutes.
I may only be able to get my morning run in tomorrow, provided that I can get myself out of bed by 5:00. We are supposed to get hit by a significant winter storm tomorrow. The forecast is calling for the snow to start around 8 in the morning with heavy snow in the afternoon and early evening hours. Not sure if that is going to pan out or not. My hope is that there is no school on Friday so that I can get a jump-start on all of my weekend cooking. My grandmother's 90th birhtday is on Saturday and I have to make things for the dinner that we are having for her so that there is food that I will eat at the dinner.
