Lemme Check My Calendar...

...because it sure feels like April. Today was the third day in a row with temperatures in the mid/upper fifties. According to the calendar that I have been using, it is still February, and the earlier part of February at that. The weather has been very strange for this time of year. Wearing shorts, comfortably, three days in a row in February is just not normal. Wearing shorts when there is still snow on the ground does not feel right. My suspicion, although I did not get to see the weather, is that the warm temperatures are not here to stay.

Today was just one of those days when everything was feeling pretty darn good. I made it to the two mile point where I have to cross a major road about 20 seconds faster than yesterday. I was really trying to hold back and run easy since tomorrow is a more difficult day. Nature did call again, I should be more prepared because I am notorious for these problems, but the port-o-pot was more accessible. There was some hopping through snow, but the big drift in the front had melted some. This time I may have been able to make it home, but there was a toilet available, it's rather clean, and it is the only one that is on the route-so I used it! I looked at my watch and realized how fast I was running at this point and made a real effort to back off the rest of the way. I ended up with 7 miles in 47:35. My right ankle was acting up towards the end again. It's funny, it hurts the least when I run. It's on ice as I type.

After the debacle yesterday at the gym, I knew that some more needed to be done today. I went over and did 38 minutes on the stationary bike. I had programmed it for 45 minutes, but I was done the magazine I was reading, my legs were feeling tight, and it was getting late. I stretched which helped the tight feeling. Then some lifting, yesterday's pathetic attempt must have done more than I thought since my arms felt pretty darn sore. I need to do some core exercises before bed and set the alarm for 5:00. Tomorrow morning is going to be a real test since they are calling for rain in the morning. Rain is not one of my favorite conditions, and being so early it is going to be extremely unpleasant. My co-workers may have to deal with one really nasty chick tomorrow!
