GO EAGLES!!!!!
I'll keep my football cheering brief, as I know that as an Eagles fan I'm in the minority here. Anyways, tonight we'll be chillin in my parents room watching the Eagles in the Superbowl. Since we don't have cable and get crummy TV reception, only the 13 inch TV in my parents room gets FOX. The game will probably go on past my bedtime, but since the Eagles are playing I feel obligated to at least watch until the game is over.
I woke up this morning with a pounding headache. I had a small dinner last night and then met a friend from high school for drinks. After that I went to a party that a co-worker's boyfriend was having. In retrospect, one too many glasses of wine was probably consumed given the amount of activity during the day. Taking two Advil immediately after getting out of bed did help, but the headache did not start to subside for about 40 minutes.
The fresh air during my run helped my head feel much better. Considering yesterday's long run, my legs felt really pretty good. Taking a short (a little over a mile) walk yesterday afternoon and then stretching and using The Stick and the foam roller helped immensely. There was just no energy or pep going to my legs this morning. Hey, I get what I deserve for not eating enough (really not my fault) and drinking too much (that was my fault).
It almost felt like a fall morning this morning when I did get out to run. It was about 44 degrees and sunny. I didn't have to wear a hat or a jacket, just gloves. Now, I still think that 44 is chilly and not nearly warm enough for shorts, but it was really pretty. There was quite a bit of wind which was making my run feel even more difficult than it should have felt.
I ran very very easy for just under 7 miles today. That gave me 64 miles for the week. That is my highest mileage week in nearly two years. For the most part, my body feels good. I must have turned my right ankle at some point because it is a little bit tender. I felt it a little bit on Friday when I was walking around. It started to feel sore at the end of yesterday's long run, but not too bad. I've been icing it a few times a day and trying to massage it to get the blood flowing better. My main problem is sleepiness; getting up at 5 in the morning to run is very difficult for me. Once I get used to that hour it should not be too bad.
