About a Million Times Better
Looking back at yesterday's entry makes me realize how bitchy I sounded. It is 100 percent the weather's fault...it is really hard to have a good day when it is really crappy out. Seriously, when you're already having a not so great day and it's windy and raining out it can really affect my mood. Work was not any better than usual today, but sunny skies and temperatures in the mid to upper 50s made me much happier today.
The right ankle is starting to concern me. Of course, I am a complete and total idiot and do not wear good shoes for work. Boots yesterday, and even worse, high heels today. Neither of these pairs of shoes have any kind of support or stability. Today I was smart enough to take of my heels for a good portion of the day. Walking around with no shoes on does not hurt it at all, but putting shoes on irritates it. I also iced it twice during the day at work today. The tendon on the very outside of my right foot is the one that is slightly discolored. It was kind of swollen after I stood on it for forty minutes today.
This afternoon was the longer run of the week. It felt pretty decent once I got moving. My ankle was not too much of an issue. Murphy's Law struck today: about 3/4 mile past the port-o-pot, nature was calling and I had to use my shrubs again. When I ran by the potty, there was no indication that I was going to need to use it, but by the time I had the sensation it was not worth turning around to go back. The run was a little bit slower than it was last week, but the last portion was quite a bit faster. No sweat, I can tell that I am tired. I called to schedule a massage this week, but the therapist hasn't returned my call yet.
After the run I headed over to the gym. I rode the bike for 45 minutes, stretched, and lifted some. The massage should really hit the spot. I need all that gunk flushed out of my legs.
Thank you for the encouraging comments to have a better day today, they were very much appreciated!

You know I used to wear heels to work all the time (I am only 5'1"). I feel so much better when I don't though - so I bought some fabulous flat shoes that I wear almost every day (one black, one brown). Maybe you should invest in some flats that look fabulous.
I hope your ankle feels better soon. Keep it up with the ice!

I don't think you sounded bitchy at all. Everyone has bad days every now and then, and I'm sure it felt good to get it off your chest! :)
When I have an ankle sprain, I like to wear a light brace or tape it when I'm not running to take down the swelling and provide stability. I know, it ruins the stylish shoe look, but you gotta take care of that puppy so you can keep running. :)
