Some Whine (and Cheese)
OK, I'm going to whine and complain about the weather some more. They are forecasting 10 to 15 inches of snow here now. Most of the snow is supposed to fall tomorrow, with a little bit on Sunday. It isn't supposed to start until late morning, so at least I should be able to get my long run in on Saturday morning. The department of transportation usually is not too good about clearing of the roads around here. I do realize that those of you in New England are used to this kind of snow. We haven't had a major snowstorm since President's Day weekend in 2003. My superstitions tell me that I had a great year after that snowstorm, so maybe it is a good omen for me. Treadmill running is not my forte, I just can not do it to save my life. I just go outside and plug away at it, so I can't run too fast-maybe it makes me stronger or lets me rest. The easy days have to be very easy when there is two feet of snow on the ground.
So today, after work I went to the mall and bought new dress boots and a new sweater. After my little shopping excursion, I went to the gym. My right foot was a little bit on the sore side since I wore my "bad" shoes to work and the mall. I managed 45 minutes on the elliptical machine without reading. I was actually watching ESPN coverage of the football games this weekend, since the Eagles are playing. Both of my feet were falling asleep while I was on it. I think that it could be because I'm up on my toes more? After that I did some lifting that I haven't gotten around to all week.
The weather is about to come on soon. I'm supposed to go to the mid-Atlantic USATF banquet tomorrow, but if it is snowing hard I'm not going to make the trip. The drive up would not be too bad, but the drive back could be very dangerous. Although it is all highway driving, it is slightly downhill the entire way.
Keep your fingers crossed that the snow is late and gives me a snow day on Monday!

Okay, I do feel sorry for you, because even in New England we haven't had a storm that bad this year (unless maybe you go way up north in VT, NH, or ME) and we aren't supposed to get that much this weekend.
When I'm on the elliptical, I pick up my feet up off the pedals and wiggle my toes around a bit every once in a while, and it usually prevents my feet from falling asleep.
Good luck this weekend!

Blondie,
Wow, that's a lot of snow! Good luck with this impending snowstorm! I hope you get your long run in, and I also hope you get a Monday snow day! What good are snowstorms if you don't get time off, right?
Take care!

Looks like you're getting more snow than we are. Make sure to stock up on all your favorite comfort foods in case you can't make it out in your car. :)
