Better Night than Expected

Last night was quite a bit more fun that I expected it to be. I was sort of not looking forward to this wedding. The bride is a girl who I went to high school with, did not see for all of college and grad school, but then ran into when she moved back to the area two years ago. S and I were both single, or you could say that we were each other's dates. We were almost late for the wedding. We pulled up in front of the church about a minute before the wedding was supposed to start and ran in. We were the last guests to be seated by the ushers. As soon as we were sitting down they started the seating of the mothers. That was the first bit of excitement for the evening.

The directions from the church to the reception were not very well written, even for those of us who are local. Half of the bridal party got lost, as well as the parents of the groom. The hall was nice enough to extend the reception for an hour due to the problems. S and I were concerned that we were the only single women at the reception, making us the only ones to go out and try to catch the boquet. We decided that if it was only the two of us, we would ham it up and make a really big deal about it. Lucky for us, there were other single young women who really wanted to catch that darned thing. B tossed that thing and it almost hit the wall, and a guy caught it. If either S or I stuck our hand in the air, we would have caught it. B tossed it again and those girls were practically fighting over it. S and I left about an hour before the reception ended since we were both tired. She also had to get up early and drive out to central PA to visit her grandmother whose health is failing.

Due to the reception running so late, we did not eat until late last night. Because of that, I did not sleep particularly well. My stomach was not too happy this morning when I got out of bed. J has suggested that I run off roads on Sundays because that is really the only day that I can get my entire run in during daylight. I got myself dressed and drove over to a small park to run. I ran pretty much every trail and loop around the park forwards and backwards. Most of the ground was semi-frozen, probably not too much softer than going on the roads. I ran for 51 minutes, but did not feel so great for the early parts. I was supposed to do some striders this morning, but I just wanted to get home and in the shower.

This afternoon I finised my laundry and watched the Eagles game. After that I went over to the gym and did 35 minutes on the elliptical. Tomorrow I'm going to see Meet the Fockers with my mother and maybe my aunt. Buying two new pairs of training shoes is also on my agenda. It is amazing how quickly days off can get filled.
