A solution?
Today was a much better day. Of course it also involved sleeping in. Really sleeping in. It sort of affirms my suspicions that the scrimping on sleep I've been doing recently is not good for me. I stayed up and watched the end of Law & Order last night since I got sucked in during the first 15 minutes. I hate when that happens! Anyhow, I was in bed right after it was over. Other than waking up to pee at 3:00, I slept straight through until 9:15! The last time I had a day off from work and could sleep late I did the same thing. I should start trying to get into bed by 9:15 most nights now so that I can get enough sleep.
I did not feel great by any means today, but I felt so much better than I have for the past couple of days. I considered tacking on a few extra miles this morning, but used my better judgement. I looked in my log book from last year to see what I was doing at this time and realized that my mileage has been higher for the past few weeks. Tomorrow is also a rather big day since there is a 10K/5K in town. It costs the same amount to run both races, so I always get two numbers. It's only supposed to be done as a tempo workout, but given how poorly I've been running recently it may take more out of me than I anticipate. Saturday is the real race, the XC race my club puts on every year. Since I abhore running cross country and have not been on the trails all year it should be pretty ugly.
This afternoon I have to go shopping to replace the black boots I wear practically every day. One of the kids at school opened the door over my foot and tore the leather off of it. My dad tried to repair it and it does look really pretty good, but it's going to bother me. I also need to pick up some spikes to put in my XC shoes. Wine for dinner tomorrow night rounds out my shopping list. Of course none of these things are in the same place.
Good luck to everyone running Turkey Trot type races this weekend and happy Thanksgiving to all!

Hi - glad you got to sleep in today. That sounded nice! I hope you surprise yourself in your workout tomorrow. Hope you were able to get all of your errands done. I have a hard time getting to bed early as well. Perhaps over the long holiday you can get more sleep. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope you had a great race and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
BTW, I totally agree with you on the early Christmas deal. It only seems to be getting worse (earlier) every year. It'll turn us all into Scrooges!!!
