I was impressed...

With NBC's coverage of the men's 10,000 this afternoon. When the commentator announced that there was a delay at the track, I thought "great, they'll show the start of the race and then cut to the regular programming". I was so impressed that they did not go to the local news AND they showed the race without any commercial breaks!! It would be nice if they'd do that during the marathon, but I don't think that many people would be happy.

I was going to do some crosstraining today. My legs feel suprisingly fresh after hill repeats last night. The spot that I twisted on my foot, it isn't really the ankle, is still swollen so I thought it would be better to just rest it and ice a lot. It doesn't hurt when I walk or run on it, so I guess that it is OK to keep running as long as I pay attention to it. My dad is telling me that I definitely did something to it because there is visible swelling.

I have my long run on tap for tomorrow. I'm not sure exactly how far I'm going to run. It really depends on who else shows up. I don't think many of the marathoners are coming and almost everyone else is around an hour, so I'll probably run with them for the first hour and then tack on after that. I'd like to be around 13 again this week. I have a half-marathon coming up in 4 weeks. Originally I wanted to have at least three runs of at least 16 miles heading into it, but I think that I'll have to be happy if I get one in. I should have leftover fitness from this spring.

On Sunday I have to get going earlier in the morning so I can have my run in and be showered and clean by the time the marathon starts. It isn't like I stay in bed all day, but I have to be a little bit more structured this weekend so that I don't miss any of the coverage.
