To Philly We GOOOOO!

Major excitement! Tonight we are driving half way to Philadelphia and then driving the rest of the way Saturday morning so that O can run in the Philadelphia Marathon on Sunday. Yahooooooo! I get my racing fix without being sore the next day! :)

I'm not sure what I'm looking forward to most. Seeing O race on Sunday and TOTALLY crush his current marathon PR OR going out to the "pre-race" dinner on Saturday night not caring at all what I eat. HAHA! It's a toss up. But I think I might have to go with the first one. :)

I'm also really looking forward to cheering for and supporting O who has been there for all my races doing the very same for me. Not that I could live up to this spectathlete standards. No, in fact I've already informed him that I will not be venturing out to the far end of the marathon course to cheer but rather I'll be staying safe and sound around the start/finish/halfway point. I figure this is the only proper thing to do because if I tried to navigate around Philly by myself I'd likely end up in Camden, NJ and that's just not safe. And it would be no fun for O to have to bail me out after he's just run a hard marathon. :)

But either way I'm really looking forward to this weekend and being on the opposite side of the racing fence. Send O some speedy vibes on Sunday morning!

In other news, today I almost made a grown man cry when I told him he probably shouldn't eat Cap'n Crunch for breakfast every morning. He was just so sad. And then I got a little sad for him. I mean is Cap'n Crunch really that good? :) More nutrition counseling today as you might have been able to guess. I have been really enjoying this "wellness" side of my work. I have the perfect combination of working with really sick people (hospital), healthy people that are going to be sick if they don't start eating better/exercising (wellness consulting) and really, really healthy people that are quite obsessive (athletes, duh :). It's quite a vast array and keeps me on my toes. Today a woman told me (and she was QUITE sure of herself) that if she ate fruit she was going to get "the sugar" (which is code for diabetes). It took quite a bit of convincing but I think I might have changed her mind. Or not. Very hard to tell. :)

Anyway, now it's time to eat dinner and then get a move on! Philly or bust! I will be sure to report on O's successful race and my attempt at being a race sherpa!

Good luck O!!!! And have fun spectating/cheering on Sunday Beth! I'm sure you will do a great job too :-)

Cap n Crunch really is THAT good. Even good enough to make you not care that it tears up the roof of your mouth. Ha!

I totally love Capn Crunch (and Lucky Charms)...but my fav sweet cereal is FrankenBerry! I don't eat them for breakfast ALL the time, but I definitely use them as my desserts and then occasionally I buy a box just for my sweet fix. Maybe you can suggest that as an alternative! I don't know what I would do if I couldn't eat sweet cereal sometimes!!

Have fun in Philly cheering on O.

"The Sugar" gotta love code words for diseases. I have a friend running Philly as well. Keep an eye out for him.

(Don't you love that, 20,000 people running and I tell you to look for a guy - no description, nothing.)

Tell O good luck!

I hope he kicks butt!!!

I've got a soft spot in my stomach for Cookie Crips. You know what they say, "If you like cookies, you'll love Cookie Crisp!!"

I'm not even sure we have Cookie Crisp up here, but from what I can tell on the commercials they really are just little cookies, right?
So basically what you're saying is my Venti Mocha Frappuccino breakfast daily is no good? NOT hired!

Woo hoo!!! GOOD LUCK to Oscar! Hope the two of you have a GREAT time in Philly and he gets that record! Have fun being a super spectator - make sure you have plenty of snacks and water (to prevent the dreaded 'bonk' ;) Can't stop giggling over the Captain Crunch and "sugar" comment. Oh well. I have to confess that I LOVED Honey Smacks as a kid...but only got to eat it when my family traveled on vacation up to the North Shore of Lake Superior. But I guess I loved it so much because I didn't eat it every day... hhhmmmm....

Have a GREAT weekend the two of you!!!!!
