A New PR
Today I set a new PR - farthest distance ever swam. But kind of on a technicality. Either way I'll take it. :)
You see I had a 5000 yd swim on my schedule today. 5000 yds is the farthest I ever swam. But today, I went to masters where the pool is set up long course - meters that is. And so I did 1000 meters of warmup, a 3000 meter main set and then...then I got kicked out of the pool. Time for the club team to take over all 8 lanes. Did I ever mention that the club team is comprised of very small children that swim about 10 times faster than me? It's humbling to say the least.
Anyway, luckily Pitt also has a 25 yd warmup pool (I think that's what it's used for) so I did another 1000 YARDS of cooldown in there.
It occured to me about 500 yds into that 1000 yd cooldown that due to the first 4000 being meters - I was about to set a new swim distance PR!! Woo-hoo!! (I have no shame, I'll take a PR in any way, shape or form that it may come)
So after finishing up, showering and stretching I scurried on down the hill to work where I quickly got on the computer to find some sort of conversion chart from meters to yards. And to my delight I discovered that my new "farthest ever swam in one workout" PR is...
...5374.453 yards.
WOO-HOO! :)

That's an awesome pool. LCM is waaaay farther than SCY, especially considering half the turns. You could consider even more distance. Good work.

HOLY NICE POOL!!! You are very lucky :)
Today at our pool they were doing construction and accidentally cut the pipe that provides us with water - so afterward, no showers for us, just chlorine smelling hair all day :) haha!

You are going to keep setting records this year! I always look for something to celebrate, and this is definitely one of them - but WOW 5000?? I have never swam that far, I think 4100 is my max!
