Ouch?

Oh man. To say my legs are a bit over-cooked right now would be the understatement of the day! Started the morning off with a moderate run, nothing too bad and once we got rolling I felt pretty good. But then at work, tired legs. You know when you can feel it just walking around? So home and onto my speed bike workout of the week, hard intervals on the trainer. Interval number one and my legs are burning already.

And that's when I knew I was in for a long one.

But that's okay. Since I have the race this weekend (sorry I keep mentioning this little race!) my week is a bit front-loaded and I knew going into this bike session that it was going to be tough. I could have at least done the bike workout this morning to help a little but that's not the point. Learning how to go hard...really hard...on tired legs? THAT'S the point! And so it went. By the end of the workout I felt like I was pedaling through cement. Why. Are. These. Pedals. So. Hard. To. Turn?!?!

But now a couple hours later, fed, iced, showered, stretched and massaged I'm no worse for the wear. Stronger actually. And now tomorrow is quite an easy day. Only a swim! Thursday is a normal masters swim/moderate length ride but then easy again on Friday with just a short, easy run. Yippppeee!!

And now I must get back to watching the Biggest Loser. I've totally become addicted to this show. In a world full of bariatric surgery, every gimmick diet in the books and hundreds of useless diet medications, it's pretty refreshing to see people lose 100 pounds + with just a dose of good, old fashioned, hard work.

Good night everyone!

Yes, we will all be cheering for you this weekend! I don't have TV at home, but sometimes when I run on the treadmill at the gym, they show interviews with people from that show on the morning shows and they all sound so much happier--not just about their bodies, but their souls, too!

Hi Beth, Good luck in your race. Are you in the elite amateur division at St. Anthony's?
