Happy Spring!

If you recall, the last several Thursdays have been very good to me. Riding outside in warm weather and sun. Swimming LCM. What more could a girl ask for? I woke up this morning wondering what this Thursday would bring. Especially exciting was the fact that it's the first day of spring!

Of course we all know that it's usually cold and miserable on the first day of spring. :) It wasn't miserable here - actually pretty sunny! But it was cold. I looked outside all day at work thinking - "wow, it looks great out there!" But as I stepped outside to walk up to my car...um...very cold. Windy. And not really fit to ride outside.

Regardless, I'm getting ahead of myself. I was pretty excited to try some swimming again today but I decided to skip masters practice and just do my regular, easier Wednesday workout instead of an intense, longer swim. I didn't trust myself to stop and get out of the pool at masters if my shoulder was really bothering me.

So to the YMCA O and I went this morning and I'm happy to report my shoulder did pretty good! Not 100% but not the intense pain I was worried about. If anything my shoulder just felt "tired" so I did my full workout and came home for ice and Advil. I think I'm on the mend, just have to take it easy and pay attention to taking care of it now!

Work was busier than ever. I do have to say that one good thing about my job is that I'm never worried about losing it. We are always short handed and trying to hire more dietitians. There are always so many patients to see. Unfortunately sick people aren't going away any time soon... :)

O drove me in this morning (if you remember he has the whole week off from work) so he spent the day in Oakland after his track practice this morning. Then we got to ride home together which is the best since he drives and I sleep through the traffic jams. Not that he was minding today given the fact that the NCAA tournament started today and he is all about BASKETBALL (and listened to the games the whole longggggg ride home).

When we got home he immediately parked himself (and his 2 computers) in front of the tv to watch b-ball the rest of the night. I, on the other hand, packed up the car with my bike and gear and headed to the bike shop to use the computrainers for my ride. It was already close to 5:30 and the windchills were in the low 30s, high 20s so I decided the trainer it was! I did have a good ride though. I did the St. Anthony's course +. Amazingly enough it won't be long before I'm doing the real St. Anthony's course!

And last but not least I must mention that O has decided to start a blog. No telling how much he'll write or what he'll write, but I'm pretty interested to see the outcome! I'm guessing his entries will mostly be devoted to sports talk but who knows what he might have up his sleeve... :)

Happy spring everyone!
