Wish Come True
Last night as O and I were driving home from the grocery store (where cereal disaster was averted with the purchase of ~7 more boxes of cereal), I commented how I hoped we did something like 50s or 75s or even 150s at masters Thursday because I was getting sick of doing 100s. Well Coach Jen must have been reading my mind because today we were treated to a workout of 50s! Woo-hoo!
Of course I'm not *quite* sure why I wished for such a thing because as the distances get shorter it only hurts more. I'm not the speediest of speedsters if you know what I mean.
Regardless, my lane mate and I got a little bold today and decided to try the workout on the intervals that the fastest lane was using. Occasionally we get a little crazy like that. Not too often though because when they are doing 100s on 1:10...well, that's just not smart for someone with a 1:08 PR. :)
Anyway, I really had fun with today's 50s and swam my little heart out on the HARD ones. I was pulling the water back like nobody's business and trying to take as few breathes as possible to try to swim a :30. No such luck. A :32 was the fastest I could muster. But I'm pretty sure this is a PR regardless. Never mind the fact that in the 1650 that I raced a couple weeks back there were people swimming :32s FOR THE WHOLE RACE. Hmmm...that's actually a little disturbing.
And so it goes. Work was good today and now I'm home writing my blog and trying to play ball with Roxy at the same time. She is WILD! I think she's getting a little stir crazy because with all the snow/slush/ice/rain lately we haven't been taking her on as many runs. Poor pooch.
Off to do some core exercises and ride my bike.... Good night all!

A 32, you really are turning into a real swimmer!

We currently have 4 boxes of cereal in our kitchen and we're always running out of milk too. It must be a triathlete thing...Also great job on the swim workouts. That's smokin fast!

Beth, you should know that I am a swimmer first and foremost and your swim times make me quake. I think you'd give me a real run for my money in the pool. I'm really psyched to see how your racing season goes this year.
