Sad Goodbyes

Today at work one of my good friends said goodbye as she is moving along to a different position at a different hospital. Boo to that. Very happy for her of course (so glad to see someone get out!) but very sad for me. The only good thing about the day was the carrot cake and burnt almond torte we celebrated with from the Oakmont Bakery. I don't like carrots but trust me when I say, I can put down a carrot cake like none other.

Regardless, this is a very alarming trend - friends leaving at work - because in January and then again in February two more friends are gone on maternity leave. Winter is looking bleak. This leaves me with no good options and really only one choice - yep, you got it, I need to quit too! I haven't presented this idea to O yet and of course there is no way he'll go for it, but I can certainly try.

In other news Roxy just ate a part of a book and one of my socks, all while I was away for a mere 35 minutes at the YMCA lifting. That dog is just no good.

Not much else to report. (very boring today aren't I?) We have lots of snow and it's still cold and I've been running, swimming and biking and blah, blah, blah. Tomorrow, however I will have a little excitement because O's surprise gift will be taking place! He still has no clue what it is and I'm just delighted I've managed to keep it a secret this long...

Have a great weekend everyone!
