Living Large

So O is off in Atlantic City gambling away our life savings while Roxy and I are at home living the single life. Very funny that last statement because (1) we don't have any life savings to gamble away and (2) O is about the last person in the world who would gamble.

Actually, he is in Atlantic City for the next couple days but it's for a track coachs' clinic. The last time I talked with him though he had more to say about the awesome wrap he had for dinner than anything track related. Hmm... :) Seriously though, it looks like a great clinic with Frank Shorter as the keynote speaker and distance coaches Marcus O'Sullivan, Matt Centrowitz and the coach from Florida State whose name is escaping me right now (Bob Braman?).

One morning there is a run on the boardwalk with Frank Shorter. Of course I asked O if he would be joining that run. And get this - he wasn't sure!?! How in the world could you pass that up? That's the difference between O and I though. He's not really too impressed with any one thing or person. I, on the other hand, am quite the star-struck, oh-my-god-is-that-frank-shorter?!?! type of person.

Regardless, I'll be interested to hear all about it when he returns!

Before he left this morning he joined me for both my swim and run workouts. I again did both before work. It's very nice to come home from work and relax instead of heading straight into another workout, but I know this will soon be ending. My workouts will start getting too long to be jamming both of them in before I leave for work.

Regardless, both the swim and run were good. The run was done in my least favorite weather conditions - raining and about 38 degrees (the only worse conditions are rain and 34 degrees...:) but it actually wasn't that bad. After my hands warmed up and my feet were totally soaked (and I therefore gave up on trying to avoid puddles) I was just fine.

And that's that! Tomorrow morning is Masters Swim! and that's very exciting.

Good night everyone!
