Heat Wave!
It's not even winter yet but we have had our first official heat wave! Hate to be bragging about this given the awful conditions in the midwest but it was actually 60 degrees here today in Pittsburgh! Of course it was wet, rainy at times and very gray and cloudy but 60 is 60 and I'm not going to complain!
Of course being the brilliant planner that I am, I did my OUTSIDE run this morning when it was still in the 30s and saved my INSIDE trainer workout for this evening when it was in the 60s. Can't get anything past me! I did take the opportunity to wear sandels to the grocery store tonight though. Because wearing sandels everywhere is probably my favorite thing about warm weather.
In other (very) exciting news I am going to go to a triathlon clinic in January! This is very, very exciting for me because I've never been to something like this before (running or triathlon) and I've always wanted to try it. I know I still have much to learn about triathlon and so it's time to start a learnin'! The clinic is in Chicago and put on by these two triathlon coaches. Very cool. And even though I had convinced myself that I could drive to Chicago by myself my always awesome husband O has decided he would come with me to drive. Very devoted yes, but I think part of him just wanted to avoid the desperate, sobbing phone call asking him how in the world I ended up in Kansas!?! :)
Nonetheless, nothing much else exciting happened beyond all that. I did get my training accommodations all set up for when we visit my parents in South Carolina over Christmas week. I'm going to be swimming at the rec center they have (outdoor pool!) and I even contacted the masters team there to see if I could join in! Now isn't that craziness? I was scared to death to go to my own masters swim team practice and now here I am inviting myself to other teams' practices! I've definitely come a long way... :)
Good night everyone!

O's comment made me chuckle because I just got back from 4 days in Kansas. I swear, someone said this phrase every 13 minutes over the course of those 4 days.
