Rock Slides

I do not heart rock slides. No sir. The major highway that we live off of always has them and last night was a repeat performance. That meant that the whole highway was closed (a main artery to get into Pittsburgh) this morning for rush hour. Needless to say my morning commute was not the best. Nor my ride home. I may consider starting to sleep over night at work underneath my desk... :)

Other than that I had a good day. This morning started off well (prior to knowledge of aforementioned rock slide) with a 4500 yd swim. I felt strong and surprised myself by swimming faster than I thought I would. The main set was 3x(4x200 w/30 sec rest, 1x400 w/15 sec rest).

After work I headed back to the YMCA for a 30 minute pool run and then a weight session.

Now it's time to eat pizza. No complaints there!

My hamstring has been feeling pretty good lately. I'm pretty certain it would hurt if I tried running but I don't feel it swimming at all (like I did before) and no traces of pain while I was lifting this afternoon either. All good signs! I may try a little run this weekend again, just to test out the waters. I'm not getting too hopeful but it sure is nice to see some improvement!

Have a great night everyone!

What's up, Beth? It's Amy Thorne (now Zampi)! I was bored at work and googled people from high school and I found your Blog! I read it every day at work because it's totally motivating. I'm running the Army 10-miler here in DC this weekend with 3 of my sister-in-laws. Email me if you want to catch up: amyzampi@yahoo.com
