Kona Envy
Okay - I'm starting to have a serious case of Kona Envy. Reading all the blogs of athletes racing Saturday, the preview articles, the predictions, the build-up of all build-ups. I am absolutely, 100% inspired to work harder than I ever have to one day get there myself.
That is until I think of doing the actual race. 2.4 miles of swimming in the ocean, 112 miles of cycling and then a marathon in the hot lava fields of Hawaii. Think the Chicago Marathon was bad? Add another 10-15 degrees and a whole lot more humidity, oh and 2.4 miles of swimming and 112 miles of cycling too. Brutal isn't even the word.
But I guess that's why it's the race of all races. And why they don't let just anyone in. We all have to dream...

And the thing is, if you qualify you totally have to go and try the crazy adventure of the Ironman. I have a feeling you will qualify one of these days :)
