T-I-R-E-D!

I'm not sure who is worse off right now...O, after a long day of standing outside in the sun at a track meet or me, after a cycling/running workout in that same sun. It might be a tie. Roxy is definitely the most energetic family member right now, although that's nothing new. ;)

AM swim workout:

2500 yds total@YMCA
wu: 300 yd easy, 10x50 on 1 min
ms: 6x200 w/30 sec rest descending (2:54, 2:47, 2:44, 2:42, 2:39, 2:36), 300 kick (4:46)
cd: 200 easy

Okay, so I took the first 200 a little too easy... :) This workout was so quick I was on my last 200 before I noticed I was even in the pool! This week my swimming takes a definite dip in yardage...

PM cycling workout:
1:13 total - 15 min wu, 4x15 sec pickups w/10 sec rest, 2 min easy, 1x15 min w/5 min rest, 1x5 min w/2 min rest, 10x30 sec accelerations w/15 sec rest, 20 min cooldown

I was feeling like some hills today so I warmed up over to a 2 mile + long hill that I somtimes encorporate into my long rides. My long rides have a heart rate cap though so I can't ride up the hill hard - I just sort of have to spin. Speed bikes days however are a free for all in the HR department so I wanted to do the majority of the workout up the hill. It was good and I was really glad I did it...but only after it was over! The hill is gradual at first but gets quite steep towards the end. For the 15 minutes hard I made it up the hill, turned right onto a road that is rolling for about a mile then made another right which is a road parallel to the uphill road but mostly downhill. I got down that hill just in time to ride my 5 minutes hard up the first uphill again. Needless to say my legs had had enough of me by the time the workout was done!

After all that I came home and did some odds and ends before heading out for my 70 minute run. It was so nice outside - a little on the warm side for running (~80 degrees) but sunny and the sun was just starting to go down towards the end of my 70 minutes. Very pretty. Glad to be done though. Sat on the couch and ate dinner and was very happy to not be moving anymore. :)

And now it's very much time for bed. Good night all!

PS Day off (from training that is, not work) yesterday and a massage after work. Ahh...so spoiled... :)

Wow Beth, you sure are dedicated and single-minded. I know all this is going to pay off in your tri-season, as it has before. Keep chopping that wood!
