One More Year

So today I turned 28 years old. My 27th year wasn't too bad. We'll have to see what the 28th year has in store... :)

This morning I ran ~10.5 miles (1:25) before church. O and Roxy ran with me but only for about 4 miles as O has a big race tomorrow! He will be running. My mom, uncle, aunt and cousin will all be walking. And I'll be cheering. Very much looking forward to that. :) The race is for my high school coach that passed away this past fall. It should be a huge affair as I know many, many people from the Pittsburgh running community will be there in support of Coach Gatons and his family!

Regardless, I also rode my bike for an hour tonight on the trainer. In between the run and the bike there was much eating of good food and cake as O, my mom and I went to visit my grandparents for a birthday celebration.

Summary for the week:
Monday - 500 yd recovery swim in am
Tuesday - 30 min easy spin and 15 min easy jog recovery in am, 2x25 pushups and 2x100 crunchers
Wednesday - 4500 yd swim in am, 30 min easy run in pm
Thursday - ~8 mi run workout in am including 3x1600 on track, 1:50 ride in pm
Friday - 3500 yd swim in am, core/feet exercises
Saturday - 3:15 ride/30 min run brick in am, 3500 yd swim in am
Sunday - 1:25 run in am, 60 min easy bike in pm

This was a pretty good week mileage wise despite 2 easy recovery days at the beginning of the week. But now it's time to taper again for another race (this one an "A" race)! I've said it before and I'll say it again - I sure do love to race! :)
