Happy Mom's Day!
Happy mom's day to every mom out there! (especially mine!) Just think where we would be without our moms (besides the obvious fact that without them we wouldn't be alive)! I'm not a mom yet other than if you consider Roxy. She somehow missed the mom's day memo though because I didn't get any gifts from her this morning. Other than maybe a lick in the ear when she wanted out this morning. :)
O, Roxy and I all started off the day with a long run on the trail. It was chilly! In the low 40s which felt really cool after it being in the 70s and 80s all this week. It warmed up fast though and it bloomed into a beautiful day! We ran 14 miles total - just a hair over 1:50 and we all felt pretty good. It took me a little while to get going but once I did I was happy to just keep chugging along!
After our run and church we headed to where both O and I grew up and to where O's family still lives for some mother's day festivities. These festivities involved a very good plate of rigatoni and sauce with a huge meatball. I like meatballs. A lot. :)
We got home around 4 pm and I had intentions of hopping on my bike for my hour easy spin right away but I made the mistake of looking on the computer just long enough for O to crawl into bed for a nap. Of course I had to follow. About 90 minutes later I was groggily wondering what time it was - and somehow it was 6 pm already! Where does the day go?!?! I finally climbed up on my bike around 6:30. Luckily it wasn't bad waiting for dinner until later due to the aforementioned meatball. :)
And so it goes. Another week gone! I sometimes feel like I live my life in fast forward. Or at least the weekends are in fast-forward. :) This week coming up I am in taper mode for my first big race of the season, the Columbia Tri. Very exciting indeed!

Monday - off
Tuesday - 2500 yd swim in am, 70 min bike w/intervals and 70 min run in pm, 2x25 pushups, 2x100 crunchers
Wednesday - 4000 yd swim in am, 30 min easy run and weights in pm
Thursday - 9 mi running w/track workout in am, 2:15 ride in pm, core/feet exercises
Friday - 3000 yd swim and weights in am
Saturday - 3000 yd swim in am, 4 hour ride in am/pm
Sunday - 1:50 (14 mile) run in am, 1 hour easy spin in pm
