A Little Warmer
So it's warmed up to above freezing today - actually, all the way up into the 40s! Watch out now! :)
AM swim workout:
3000 yd total @YMCA
wu: 600 easy, 6x50 w/20 sec rest alt back, breast, free
ms: 600 pull (9:47), 600 swim (8:15), 600 pull (9:36) all w/45 sec rest
cd: 300 easy
I used to hate the pull buoy. Now it's my friend. I really look forward to workouts when I get to do it. Even though it still slows me down, my body requires much less oxygen when I don't use my big oxygen sucking legs and therefore that feeling as if I am drowning from lack of air (like when I usually swim) isn't there. That's always a good thing. :)
PM cycling workout:
1:10 total on trainer - 15 min wu, 4x15 sec pickups w/10 sec rest, 2 min easy, 2x10 min TT w/5 min easy spinning rest (3.45 mi, 3.47 mi), 3x2 min w/15 sec rest accelerating throughout interval (0.69 mi, 0.69 mi, 0.7 mi), 15 min cd
Although it was definitely warm enough to ride outside (in the mid 40s) I decided to ride indoor on the trainer. There are benefits to doing cycling workouts inside and outside so my coach tells me to mix it up. Since I've done my last two speed workouts on the bike outside, I decided today was a good day to do one inside. When you are lazy like me, the trainer is nice. You don't have to pump tires, put on layer upon layer of clothes, change out back skewers, etc... :)
Anyway, I really liked this workout. I felt good and I just love the fact that my new computer can tell me while I'm on my trainer speed, distance, cadence, etc... I really pushed on the workout with my goal being to average above 20 mph on the 2x10 min time trials.
After the ride I did some random things, stretched some, changed clothes and about 30 minutes later went out for my run. This ride and run on Tuesday really isn't supposed to be a brick so I try to leave some time in between. The run was 1:15 - nothing very special about it. I ran easy. After the hard riding I was definitely glad to be done with my run and eat some dinner!
Now it's time to end this very boring blog entry. Sometimes boring is all I've got... :)

"When you are lazy like me, the trainer is nice" Beth - this is a crazy statement you made about using the trainer! You are FAR FROM lazy! Three solid workouts in one day is awesome! I can't even imagine. I am beat after one 1 hour run! Keep up the great work!
