Getting My Fill

By 9:30 AM this morning I had ridden my bike for 3 hours and ran for 30 minutes. I had watched one movie, two episodes of My Sweet Sixteen on MTV and about 20 minutes of SportsCenter. I had consumed one bowl of cereal with a banana, 40 oz of Gatorade, 32 oz of water and 1 PowerGel. I got my fill of training!

I started bright and early this morning (around 5:15) since we are going to visit my friend today. If I had waited to ride until the afternoon I probably could have done it outside but because I needed to get my training in early I stuck with the trainer - 3 hours worth! Better than just sitting on the couch and watching tv for 3 hours I guess. :) I actually felt pretty good on my ride though and truth be told, it really went by kind of fast. By the time O and Roxy woke up I was already half way through.

After my ride I hopped off, changed clothes and the whole family (O, Roxy and I) went for a 30 minute run. Technically it's my first brick of this new training plan although I end up doing a lot of inadvertant bricks on other days just to get all the training in (ie: on Tuesdays when I swim in the AM but then ride and run in the PM after work). Regardless, I was surprised that my legs felt relatively good on the run. I didn't have that heavy legged feeling like one normally does off the bike but then again I was just running easy. Either way - 3.5 more hours in the books, a good training day for sure!

And now we are off to central Pennsylvania! :)
