Swim + Bike

Get ready for a boring entry tonight! But you can't say I didn't warn you with the title... :)

AM swim workout:

2000 yds total @YMCA (1200 yds warmup, 400 yds cooldown)
6x50 fast on :90
1x100 all out

Very quick and kind of easy! I was trying to see how fast I could do a 50 in - the answer (at least for now!) seems to be :33. The workout didn't call for the all out 100 at the end but I was curious if I could get under 1:10 so I tried it. And my time was exactly 1:10.0! I guess I'll have to go for 1:09.9 next time. :)

PM cycling workout:

1:20 total on trainer - 35 minutes warmup, 30 minutes up tempo, 15 minutes cooldown

I was supposed to do a 3 mile time trial on the roads today but it's snowing, freezing cold and the roads are not that good for driving let alone cycling so inside on the trainer it was. Coach suggested just trying to keep my HR elevated for a 30 minute time frame which is what I tried. I did okay but it's quite a challenge for me to keep my HR up that long on the trainer. I have no problem when I'm racing...but just riding along... Anyway, it was fine.

And that, my friends, was my day. Oh - I went to work in there somewhere too. :) Good night everyone!
