I May Be As Dumb As You Think

Okay - the foot thing. So everyone is telling me I need to look into getting other shoes. And I have to say, the thought crossed my mind more than once, especially since my foot pain started relatively soon after starting a new pair of shoes. But I didn't really believe that it could be just the shoes given the fact that they are the same brand and all that.

Well, turns out you guys were right and I was wayyyy wrong! I think it may have been the shoes!

O and I went to the mall on Friday night with the intention of me just trying on some different models of the same brand (Asics) and seeing how they felt. It was like the difference between night and day! I couldn't believe how much better my foot felt in a slightly different shoe. I guess it's the size of the toe box or just the way the lacing system works but we bought me a new pair and they feel so much better. You guys are brilliant! I could kick myself in the head (if only my leg could reach up that far) for not trying different shoes sooner.

Not that I'm 100% cured though. My foot is still a little sore and I'll definitely have to be careful. But I think I removed the primary cause of pain. Now my foot just has to get un-mad at me for the torture I put it through. Problem solved - hopefully!

And what a time for my problem to be solved - I just got my workouts for the week and they are looking...um...shall we say challenging? Close to 18 hours for the week and that's not including pilates! AH! I'm wayyyyyy excited though to see if I can get through them. It looks like maybe about 30 miles of running, maybe 110 miles of cycling and about 15,000 yds of swimming again. Add in some weights, plyos and pilates and I think I will be one tired (but stronger!) puppy by the end of the week.

Good luck with 18 hours! I'm so excited for you and your training!

I'm also excited that you may have found the cause of the potential foot issue. I have a pair of shoes that I absolutely love underfoot. So-danged light and responsive. I feel all fast when I wear them. But they just make my right heel hurt! I'm sad that they sit in my closet, but I'm not wearing them if they (and nothing else) make my feet hurt!

Good luck this week!
