I'm not going to mince words here. When I woke up this morning I felt ROUGH. Man was I hurtin'. I did not, in any way, shape or form, want to get out of bed. I did not want to go to work and I *really* did not want to go swimming. But I did anyway and you know what? I had a pretty good workout. Swimming 100s in 1:15 isn't easy for me. But it's very gratifying because a couple months ago I couldn't swim one 100 in 1:25 let alone 1:15, let alone a bunch of them at that pace. Very gratifying indeed.

I had a pretty good day at work. I got pizza from our cafeteria at lunch. And let me tell you - the cafeteria pizza is da bomb at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Da Bomb!

Got stuck in some nasty traffic on the commute home; realized there was no way I was doing my 10+ mile run on the trail tonight because it was already getting dark by the time I got changed into running clothes. Humpf. The good news is, O was going to be able to run with me today. So we ran around the lighted streets of our neighborhood and the town next to us and I felt great. It was supposed to be an easy zone 1 type run for 1:20 and that's exactly what we did. We checked our pace once on a half mile around the high school track and it was about 7:40 pace. Good deal.

I'm kind of scared for tomorrow's team ride. My only other female teammate isn't going to be there. My coach isn't going to be there. And there was an email sent out on the team's email group about riding a "tough" 50 miler tomorrow morning. Ugh. I'm always up for a challenge but my cycling hasn't been feeling great lately and I'm going to be stuck with all the fast guys that could easily hammer me into the ground. I can only hope for (1) a lot of hills or (2) that we ride in a place that I'm familiar with so that if I get dropped I can find my way back. Perhaps I should carry some bread crumbs? :)
