Short and Sweet

I'm getting anxious to get going again with some training. I'm not nearly tired enough during the day or at night and I have entirely too much time on my hands to do things like clean the house, study and iron, all chores that I would rather NOT be doing! :)

This morning I did a quick pool workout at the YMCA.

1750 yds total (300 yds warmup, 200 yds cooldown)
400 yds w/40 sec rest (5:56)
4x25 yds fast
300 yds w/30 sec rest (4:19)
3x25 yds fast
200 yds w/20 secs rest (2:50)
2x25 yds fast
100 yds w/10 secs rest (1:20)
1x25 yds fast

The 400, 300, 200 and 100 were supposed to be at "threshold pace" of which I have no clue what mine is. So I basically swam not too hard and not too easy. The 25s were all on the order of :37-:40 w/20 seconds rest.

I was thinking this morning how far I've come with swimming. I remember swimming faster than 1:30 for a 100 yd repeat for the first time in the YMCA pool not so long ago. Now I can do a whole workout in under 1:30 pace and be fine. It gives me hope that I will still be able to improve in the water although I sometimes wonder. Of course we all know there is lots of room for improvement at first and then those last few seconds may take forever to get off!

And now I must study. Seriously. My exam is soon and I'm such a slacker I can't even take it!
