Nasty Stuff

I could really do without the 36 degrees and raining type weather. If you ask me that's about the worst it can get. I would much rather have 30 degrees and snowing. Did I mention the 50 MPH gusts of wind? Yeah - nice stuff.

Regardless it was a good day; although the nasty weather did force us inside for the team ride this morning. There was only about 5 of us and we all rode around the big tv and did a Spinervals workout for 70 minutes. I (along with a couple of the other guys) added on 50 minutes afterwards to get to 2 hours total. The extra 50 minutes was all high cadence spinning but I did manage to keep my HR up in the 160s. That's hard to do on the trainer. After that I tried riding on the new rollers. In case you don't already know, rollers are another training tool (similar to trainers) that allow you to ride your bike inside, but the big difference is that on rollers only your own balance keeps you upright. Much more difficult than a normal trainer and so therefore the idea is that it helps to build your core strength in addition to getting a ride in. Anyway, they were fun and not as hard to do as I thought they would be, although I was only on there for about 5 minutes. I'll have to try a full workout on the rollers next week and see how "easy" I think it is. :)

I also did another plyometric workout tonight - more skipping and jumping and hopping. One legged hopping for height is extremely hard and very fatiguing!

And that's my boring report on the day. :) In other news I found two (yes, that's right TWO) pair of jeans that fit me today! I wasn't really jean shopping per se but in our travels throughout the day I spotted some good deals. Good fitting jeans are very hard to find. Big quads, small waist, short legs. It's a bad combination my friends, a very bad, bad combination.

Alas, the summary for the week:

Big quads, small waist, and short-legged, (unfortunately) describes me. Do you mind divulging what type of jeans you found?

I do not mind divulging! :)

Both sit very low on your waist (more like on your hips) which is why the small waist part doesn't matter. I like those kinds of jeans though. I found out tonight that I do NOT like the so called "skinny" jeans. Those are real trouble!
