Wet All Over

This morning when I went swimming I got wet. Naturally - this is what happens when you jump into a pool full of water.

This evening on my run I also got wet. Naturally - this is what happens when you live in Pittsburgh and it starts raining in the morning and just doesn't stop raining ALL day long. Talk about a bad day to forget your running hat too. Bugger!

I've had a pretty productive day off thus far. I started things off right by getting 8.5 hours of sleep. Can't go wrong there! And then I went for workout #1 - my swim.

2600 yds total (400 yds warmup, 200 yds cooldown)
2 sets of:
400 on 7
300 on 5:15
200 on 3:30
100 on 1:45

Nothing too awful or difficult. I felt pretty good in the water this morning. And my cold is finally starting to clear up a little so I didn't feel like I couldn't breath AT ALL while swimming like I did last Tuesday.

During the day I was a machine. We're talking laundry, ironing, finishing a paper, paying bills, taking care of odds and ends for tomorrow's trip, you name it, I was doing it. And then I realized it was 5 pm and it was STILL raining and I still needed to run.

To the trail I went. It was a short 45 minute jaunt - all easy except for 4x1:30 up tempo w/3 minutes jogging rest. It was just a little less than 6 miles. It definitely felt like fall, kind of cold and dark, wet with lots of leaves down already. Can we fast forward to next summer please? :)

I still have to pack for tomorrow - surprise, surprise! I always leave that until last. For those of you who have been reading my blog and have suffered through my complaining before - you all know I HATE to pack, especially for tris. Especially for tris where you have to stay overnight. Especially for tris where you have to stay overnight and it's probably going to be cold. Get out the big bag for this trip! :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Cold? Lows should be in the mid 40s tonight, but won't that make the water feel even warmer?
