Run!

I ran today! What a nice day for it too. Actually, it was a little on the hot side - 75 degrees and sunny and even a little humid. In 3 months that will probably feel like a cool fall day, but right now it feels like an oven! Of course it's supposed to be 40 degrees and raining tomorrow, but what can you do?

I decided I was going to try to run twice a week as often as I can, once after biking on Tuesdays and once on Friday. I'm not sure if my feet will have it, but I'm going to give it a try. Today when I got home from work, O, Roxy and I headed out with a goal of 35 minutes and some striders if my feet were okay. I haven't attempted to run anything faster than 7:30 pace, so I figured I might as well give that a go. We ran easy, and arrived at the high school track after about 21 minutes. I determined my feet were feeling okay so I did 6x20 second striders. The striders didn't feel nearly as bad as I thought they were going to. Don't get me wrong - they tired me out - but I thought I was going to feel like I was running 9 minute pace. I actually felt somewhat fast. I'm sure I wasn't, but I let myself keep thinking I was. Either way, I survived and then re-joined Roxy and O for the last 14 minutes back to home. And that's that!

I am so glad it's Friday. When I woke up this morning it was so dark and pouring down rain - oh man was I struggling to get out of bed and get to work! We will be busy this weekend but I'm sure I can fit a nap (or two!) in there somewhere. And on Sunday I will finally get a chance to try out my bike! Yeah bike!
