Mid-Afternoon Swim

After church this morning, O and I ate lunch and then took a nice long nap. It was awesome. But when I got up I was feeling pretty lethargic. Ugh. And I was actually hot! So going to the pool was the perfect cure - it got me going again for this afternoon/evening and I didn't mind jumping into the cold water. :)

I did a longer workout, mostly because I had the time to do so and I wasn't doing a brick like I normally would with my second swim of the week.

400 yd easy/200 yd kick easy/200 yd easy

5x100 yd on 2
5 sets of 4x50 yd w/10 seconds rest, 1 min rest between sets
5x100 yd on 2

200 yd kick easy, 500 yd easy

As I was leaving the pool an older gentleman who had been floating in the shallow end the whole time I was there, was leaving as well. He looked at me and said "you made me tired!" and I looked at him and said, "yeah, I made myself tired too." :)

The 50s w/10 seconds rest put a hurtin' on me. 10 seconds consists of catching 2 quick breathes, looking at your watch, and going again. The nice part about that is, that portion of the workout was over before I knew it! Regardless, it was 3500 yds total, 2000 yds hard.

It's been such a beautiful weekend here! It's almost 80 degrees outside now and sunny, sunny, sunny! It would have been a great day for a bike ride, but I wanted to give it a rest until tomorrow. No worries, tomorrow is supposed to be nice too, so I'll get back in the saddle after work.

And now I'm going to really enjoy my evening of NO homework! It's the first weekend in a long, long time where I don't have any school work to think of since I've taken summer classes the past two summers. Not to say I always did school work on the weekends, but I was at least worrying about the school work I wasn't getting done. :) Now this is the life... Have a great week everyone!

I totally understand what it's like not to have homework and be able to relax! I finished my Master's a year ago.
