Alien Body

I'm pretty sure the body that I ran with this morning wasn't my usual one. At least I hope not. This new body wasn't cooperating at all. It felt awkward and sore and tight and wasn't at all smooth. I didn't like it much to tell you the truth. I hope the next time I run my usual body is back.

What I'm trying to say here is - I felt like garbage on my run this morning! I'm not sure why, perhaps the longer ride last night or sitting in the cold, getting all stiff and tight while O was playing softball. Maybe it wasn't warming up long enough for my workout? Either way, it was a rough one. O was there to witness it. :) But you know what? It doesn't really matter. It was a beautiful day outside and even though the speed wasn't necessarily there, the effort was. And running on tired legs is a good thing. I will need the practice.

The workout was 8 minutes warmup, 5-3-1-5-3-1 minutes hard with 2 minutes rest between intervals and then another 6 minutes cooldown for 42 minutes total. I felt fine running easy but running hard was a totally different story. I got through it though, and I'm sure I'm stronger for having done so.

Now O and I are enjoying the beautiful day. It's one of those days were you could just lay down outside in the grass and stare at the sky for hours. So amazing. O is actually staining the back porch right now so I should get out there and start helping... Enjoy the beautiful weather everyone!
