Swimming PR

I must start by saying that days off work are a delightful thing. Sleeping in is something I believe I would enjoy all the time!

I didn't really get up this morning until 7 am (I was up earlier but didn't get out of bed for a bit). When I got up I didn't feel like swimming. That's odd - I usually look forward to going to the pool because it's something different and it doesn't seem to be as hard on my body. But this morning I was feeling lazy. I eventually got there though and was in the pool by 8.

Once I got in the water I was fine. I did the following workout:

400 yd easy, 200 yd kick easy, 200 yd easy

4 sets of
300 on 6
200 on 4
100 on 2

300 yd kick easy

That's 3500 yds total, 2400 yds hard, a PR on both accounts. I had actually only planned on doing 3 sets of intervals but as I progressed I thought doing 4 seemed like a good idea. For one, I was feeling pretty good, but I also can't swim tomorrow (because I work and the pool hours are much shorter on the weekends) and so swimming a little longer today seemed like a good plan.

And so now that I'm done blogging and icing my feet it's time for a shower and some stretching. O worked today but has an extra long lunch so he is coming home to eat with me. Yeah! And other than that we don't have many fun things planned - homework and cleaning the house tonight - but what can I say, it's gotta get done somehow! I hope everyone has a great start to their weekends!

Hey Beth, I noticed you mentioned you had foot problems before, way back in october of last year. I have been out for over a month now, just got a cortisone shot, which now I read you recommend against (I got that advice a little too late). Anyway I am in much worse pain now. I was curious, did you have a pinched nerve in your foot? How did it all work itself out? I am really losing hope on this whole situation and need some tips on how to solve my problem. Not being able to run is killing me. If you get this and get a moment could you let me in on some advice about how all of your foot problems worked themselves out. If you could drop me an email that would be great, I will be on vacation for the next week, so problem won't respond right away, but I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
Josh
